Finis SwiMP3 Goggles
Many people that are looking for MP3 goggles are looking for them to use with swimming. They can't use their iPod or regular MP3 player in the pool. They need a waterproof option.
Many of these aquatic exercisers turn to the Finis SwiMP3. A clarification here though, the Finis SwiMP3 isn't exactly a set of MP3 goggles. It's an underwater MP3 player that clips on to your goggles.
Finis released its first waterproof MP3 player in 2004. This early model actually wrapped around the back of the swimmer's head.
Finis has since released another version. The newer model, which is called the SwiMP3 v2 has a sleeker design. Instead of wrapping around the side of your head, the new player is actually in one of the earphones, which just clip to each side of your goggles. How's the sound? The reviews are generally good for the SwiMP3 too. Finis likes to boast that it uses bone-conduction technology. Typically, the sound from a music player travels through the air to your ear. This can make the sound get muffled underwater.
With the SwiMP3 it vibrates directly off your inner ear (just make sure not to listen too loudly.)
The SwiMP3 has 256 Megabytes of storage. That means you can load approximately 60 songs onto it depending upon the length of the song.
The battery life for this mp3 player for swimmers is 10 hours. It uses a lithium-ion batter that you can recharge.
To load songs onto the Finis, you can just drag and drop music files on your computer when you hook it up using a USB chord. As easy as the doggy paddle.
The listed price for this device is $150. Some retailers sell it at a slight discount though.
